I have been asked to look after a Forum and have managed to get it off the ground, but unfortunately the person who was meant to help me is no longer contactable and so I am seeking some very basic help.

I apologise in advance if the questions that I am asking are very obvious and here are the first ones:

1) How do you make an existing Topic sticky?

2) How do I put a line in a Topic between the text written and the signature?

3) The Forum is currently split in to 3 different subject areas but I want to add some more, how do I do this.

Any help would be very much appreciated, but my knowledge is incredibly limited, so please make it as simple as possible.

Thank you

1) To make a topic sticky go to the forum containing the topic and click the pencil on the right. Then you should see a check box that says Check here to make this topic sticky. click it. Then save your changes.

2) Like this?

and in your signature or everyone's?

3)On your main forum page at the top next to Last Post or Moderator(s) their is a purple folder click it and fill the subject you want.

And last but not least welcome to Snitz.

Thank you very much for your help.

I have managed 2) and 3), but I am unable to find the check box to make a Topic sticky

I have created some new Categories and Forums and want to move some Topics from existing Forums to the newly created ones. Please will you tell me how I do this.

Thanks again

Found it.

Thank you very much.

So the last things that I need to find out how to do for the time being are:

1)I have created some new Categories and Forums and want to move some Topics from existing Forums to the newly created ones. Please will you tell me how I do this.

2)In the top left hand corner is the "Snitz Forums 2000". Is it possible to personalise this to the name of the club for which the Forum has been created?

Thank you

1) Click the pencil next to the topic again. Find Forum: above the box for the message. Change the selection to what you want.

2) Admin Options->Main Forum Configuration->Title Image Location. It can be a relative path ex ../images/header.gif or a url ex http://forum.snitz.com/forum/logo_snitz_forums_2000.gif

A month on and thanks to all your help it's going really well.

The only thing that I am problem with is replacing the Logo.

I've gone to "Main Forum Configuration" and "Title Image Location" and entered the details of a gif file that I have been given, but when I submit new config there is nothing there.

The image is 163x76 pixels and I have cleared the field and entered the picture reference, but nothing!

Please can someone help?

Thanks

What is the link to the image, and what are you entering in the text box?

If that picture file is in the default images directory then it should be showing up... It might be worth re-uploading the image just in case there was an error.

Agreed. The main things are to make sure the file is in the same directory as the rest of your images. If it still doesn't show up, try reuploading like AnonJr said, and if that still doesn't work, post a link to your forum here and one of us can take a look.

This is the first image that I have loaded.

Where do I find the default images directory?

Thank you

By default, the images directory is the same as your forum directory (e.g. - /forum/).
