If someone can give some information regarding advantages or things about snitz that makes it better over idealbb.

Picking a forum is a very individualized thing - one person's advantages are another person's disadvantages. Some people like that Snitz is relatively bare-bones out of the box; affording you the opportunity to only add what you need. Others think that's a bad thing and rail about it to no end. =/

This is why so many different packages can exist out there - everybody has different needs.

I would make a list of what you really need and want (and honestly asses if it is a need or a want), and then see what best fits your requirements.

Is that the idealBB that costs $$$?

http://www.idealscience.com/site/products/pricing/default.aspx

My hunch is that a very quick comparison gives about ($)1999 reasons to choose Snitz first - please try Snitz, if it fits, maybe donate some of the 2 grand you would spend on another system to help HuwR with our hosting costs!

2 grand for a forum?! Christ, most of us'd be able to build you an entire website complete with forums for that much!

Search is your friend

I second shaggy's opinion that is way overpriced.

They do have a "lite" version for $399...

If your company is hell-bent on getting a paid service (unfortunately I know a few of those), there are much better ones out there in terms of cost. In the end there are always other costs, and other factors to consider than just cost.... a debate I've had more than once with some individuals at work.

For a small fee I'd consult - that way they wouldn't feel to bad about it. I even work at a hospital. (I'm only semi-joking about consulting for a fee. I don't want to charge for something I'd otherwise give for free, but if it makes the powers that be happier to have thrown some $$ my way who am I to argue? )

I found a lot of problems with IdealBB

1. Dosen't look like a series forum like snitz (pictures graphics, avatars)

2. No printing formatation function
3. Lots of images (header bar)
4. Avatars
5. Only one person provides all support and is creator (Josh Kur)
6. The most expensive 24,999 for .net version and at least from what I understand snitz has a .net in beta right?????
7. Limited support even with the cost (5 ph calls)
8. Search features aren't that advance (can't search by member name for example in idealbb)

Yes, you can view and download it from here http://snitz.reddiweb.com/default.aspx

It should be getting a full beta release complete with db update scripts within the next week or so, currently it only supports using it with the supplied SQL Express database.
