Ah, excellent, cheers, Podge; that makes a bit more sense.

At least it would if it weren't for the fact that the directory does exist and has read/read + execute/list permissions for the guest account. Even gave the guest account full control temporarily, still the same error:
quote:
Server cannot access application directory 'D:\smarterstats\MRS\'. The directory does not exist or is not accessible because of security settings.
Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

You probably need to add permissions to the ASP.NET account too.

Followed method 2 here, granting the .NET account List Folder & Read data permissions. Still no joy. Will double check that all is correct after lunch.

The Company I work for uses Omniture for tracking stats. It has worked very well for us.

Just double checked the permissions for the .NET account according to that MS article. Gave .NET Traverse Folder / Execute Files & Read permissions as well 'cause it made sense. Still no joy.

<edit> Gave the guest account & the .NET account full control but still getting the same error. </edit>

permissions should be given for the ASPNET account and the IUSR_XXXX account.

Wuh-hoo! Fixed it!

Had I bothered reading down any further than method 2 in that MS article, I would have seen that, with IIS6, the necessary permissions need to be granted to Network Service, rather than ASPNet!

Now, off a-tinkering with me. Thanks for all the help thus far, guys.

You need to replace the spaces in the address with semi-colons; they're being parsed out by the forum.

Was adding our own site to SmarterStats late on Friday when bossman glanced over my shoulder and told me that was the package we should go for based purely on how it looked Told him it might cost a lot more than he was willing to pay but he didn't care
