Is there a mod or way in the new version of Snitz to totally block whole IP Strings? I think I have a BOT trying to get in, even though "it" can't due to my Snitz Captcha Plug-in, but I am sick of "it" mainly for the reason it's pings to my boards daily are affecting my Hit/Stat Counter.

Here is basically what I see in any given day:
4.88.29.228 MSIE 7.0 Windows XP 1024x768 91 1
4.88.24.178 MSIE 7.0 Windows XP 1024x768 99 1
4.88.30.223 MSIE 7.0 Windows XP 1024x768 44 1
4.88.28.38 MSIE 7.0 Windows XP 1024x768 61 1
4.88.27.53 MSIE 7.0 Windows XP 1024x768 70 1
4.88.30.144 MSIE 7.0 Windows XP 1024x768 76 1
4.88.30.205 MSIE 7.0 Windows XP 1024x768 87 1
4.88.27.146 MSIE 7.0 Windows XP 1024x768 92 1
4.88.28.128 MSIE 7.0 Windows XP 1024x768 36 1
4.88.24.22 MSIE 7.0 Windows XP 1024x768 49 1
4.88.24.190 MSIE 7.0 Windows XP 1024x768 62 1
4.88.29.47 MSIE 7.0 Windows XP 1024x768 71 1
4.88.27.59 MSIE 7.0 Windows XP 1024x768 77 1
4.88.31.105 MSIE 7.0 Windows XP 1024x768 88 1
4.88.27.9 MSIE 7.0 Windows XP 1024x768 93 1
4.88.26.251 MSIE 7.0 Windows XP 1024x768 40 1
4.88.26.97 MSIE 7.0 Windows XP 1024x768 51 1
4.88.24.245 MSIE 7.0 Windows XP 1024x768 64 1
4.88.27.155 MSIE 7.0 Windows XP 1024x768 72 1
4.88.30.244 MSIE 7.0 Windows XP 1024x768 79 1

Please tell me someone has a way to mass block whole IP Strings

Thanks!

You could look into the "Ban IP" MOD, but if they are behind an ISP's proxy (like AOL and a few others) you could potentially ban everybody who is behind that proxy in the ISP's network.

Are you sure its a Bot?

Hey, I figured it out and found something even better since my server / host does not support IP banning by using .htaccess

Check this out! > http://www.aspemporium.com/aspapps.asp?eid=54#faq6
This is not a Snitz plug-in but an entire site plug-in that let's you block IP's, and or whole IP strings or even whole ISP's and countries to EVERY .ASP file on your site, not just snitz! I just found it tonight and tested it out and it works like a charm! bye bye BOTS!

*Oh and thanks for the info and quick reply
And YES I am sure it's a bot, no real real person would try to access my Snitz forums 100 times a day on average just to never get in because I have the Captcha Mod installed

I hope this info helps EVERYONE in here since IP banning is such a widely asked question when using Snitz.

I have a script that redirects visitors based on ip address and referer. This has cut down the amount of spam I have to moderate to virtually nothing.

One website in Poland was adding about 5000 hits a day to my stats but I haven't had any trouble since redirecting them.
