I hard coded a handful of the text/color variables which kept getting deleted. This has worked successfully!
However...
This has not stopped the mysterious error, and in fact I noticed something else this morning. The "copyright" as well as any "login" options were missing. These were probably missing before, but I never really noticed because the fonts and colors were more obvious. (The colors/fonts I fixed above are no longer effected... which I should take as a small victory)
I'm convinced that GoDaddy is to blame, though I'm baffled as to what is causing the error. Since I have about 2.5 years left on my hosting with them, I just want my forum to work consistently and I'm not hopeful they will give me much help.
Here's what I plan to do, though I'm not sure I know how to do it:
- I would like to write (or access) the method in "setup.asp" that re-configures the forum's data
- This code would probably need to be loaded each time a page is accessed, just to be sure no errors show up
Any recommendations? I'm starting to pull my hair out... Argh! |
