ok, posting a new topic. your post page does indeed refresh when I click the url button, that does not happen here so is not the default behaviour, it is calling a javascript function so should not refresh the browser |

I am not getting the problem at all. Post or reply clicking on URL icon in both the classfied and How-do-I sections. |

Thanks for the help, Huw!
Now, is it only in IE 7 for you?

I don't think the problem is the javascript code itself, as soon as I click the button the page refreshes which would indicate the link for the button is the problem not the javascript code |

FYI when set to prompt, the page does a refresh no matter which button you press, even bold etc |

So that would be the issue then. The menu is the ULTIMATE DROPDOWN MENU VERSION 3.6.1 by Brothercake. I looked at their current version a while back. They have since changed the way they do their code ... kind of like Snitz did when it went from 3.3.xx to 3.4.xx ... I suspect I have to learn something new again. |

looks like a javascript conflict then, I did notice that the browser is showing an error (javascript) just before it does the refresh, but it refreshes to quickly to see what the error is. |

I had some other issues with the drop-down where I had to create some work-arounds. There are .js files in this menu for certain browsers. This version of the drop-down only goes up to IE 5, NS 6, and Opera 6 as well as a general .js for mozilla and ie, so it would be probably better to move on with their newest upgrade (free for this site - non-profit) or get something else if the upgrade changes yet more things in the site.
Any suggestions on a good drop-down menu?

Yep, tried it in both basic and prompt in multiple forums to be sure. IE7 WinXP Pro. Not sure why it is acting differently for me. |
