I've probably got my head into the code too much to see the obvious.

I know that when Snitz first came out that pop_profile.asp was an actual pop-up file using inc_top_short.asp

In current versions, is pop_profile.asp ever called up as an actual pop-up, as in, populated into a pop-up window using inc_header_short.asp and inc_footer_short.asp ?

In pop_profile.asp there is this code:

<% if not(strUseExtendedProfile) and Request.QueryString("verkey") = "" then %>
<!--#INCLUDE FILE="inc_header_short.asp" -->
<% else %>
<!--#INCLUDE FILE="inc_header.asp" -->
<%
end if

It depends on if you are using extended profiles or not.

LOL! Well, it would appear so. I have not used them. I should, shouldn't I?

I'm right there with you!

When I get the time, I'll "investigate" it.

Depends. I use it on the Jesus Joshua site because there is a need for more extensive profiles. At work I don't use it because there's no need for anyone to go looking at anyone else's profile. (All it has is their NT User Name and their full name.... not like that's a big secret.)

Extended profile isn't exactly a setting, it all depends on what you have selected under member configuration. If you have signatures, bio, hobbies, latest news, recent topics, photo & quote turned on or 5 or more out of AIM, ICQ, MSN, Yahoo, full name, gender, city, state, age, country, occupation & favourite links, then strUseExtendedProfile will be 1, otherwise it will be 0. You can see this for yourself on line 287 of config.asp.

I was "investigating" this tonight.

If you choose to allow your membership to have a lot of options in the profile, then whoever clicks on the profile link will get a full browser window to accommodate all of the information. Otherwise, a pop-up is sufficient because there is not much information to show due to the fewer amount of options offered to the members.

Oh bother! Now I have to trot off and find it.

Found it!

Well, ya didn't mention anything about the pop-up's contents ... just the 0 and the 1 and the extended profile thingy.
