I have gone through the forum and can't find anything that specifically answers my questions.
We have a spammer (spambot) who has replied to every single post in 2 forums we are running. I can remove the user ok but their posts remain - is there a way to remove the user and all their posts at the same time. Otherwise I have to manually remove hundreds of posts.
Cheers [edit by MarcelG : all-caps in the subject/]
Well - just found that you delete the member but the posts are still there and the member is set to a username of n/a. Then when you find this user and delete them, all their posts go as well. Thank god for that.
Another question - does anyone know if you can reassign posts from one user to another user? We have a staff member who has left and they are now n/a as the username. Want to move their posts to new staff member.
You'd have to edit the database directly to do that.
oh and also, although it may not make much difference if it's a spambot, try locking users rather than deleting them, that way if you have "require unique email address" and email validation turned on it makes it a tiny bit harder for them.
