I am starting from scratch and using a new database and a new forum (very old version of snitz and 25mb access database file), but I want my old forum members from my previous database. So, I copied and pasted the old forum members to the new database. However, I get this "must use an updatable query" error when i open the forum. What did I do wrong? What I did was made a query in access using the old database to gather all usernames that have logged in from 2006 to present and copied those usernames into the members table on the new forum database. It looked good, but I guess I did something wrong...

That error is not related to what you did. Try using the search page and search for 'updateable query'. It's a very frequent error.

Okay, so it is pretty much a permission problem, so do I have to get read/write permissions every time I want to edit the database in access? Basically i delete and readd the database...

Yeah, you probably do. Once deleted the permissions are gone and the new file needs to have the permissions set again.
