Thanks in advance |

Goto
admin options--> Font Table Configuration (this is for changes in color schemes)
admin options--> Main Forum Configuration (This is where you can change where your logo is pointing to and what your forum is called)
If you look through each option there is a little that you can click and it will tell you what it does. This way you can go through each option and make the changes you need to. |

so basically if the field in the admin options points to something like:
www. site.com/forum/images/logo.gif
you need to rename it and upload to the images folder and change the logo.gif part to whatever you new one is called.

I am not really sure what you are asking to tell you the truth if you are looking for where on the server try the suggestions below. If not could you explain a with a little more detail?
Depends on the server some people have the structure c:/inetpub/wwwroot/site.com/forum/images others will have it like I have mine set up that I just choose my site site.com/forum/images
But you just need to use a FTP program to upload the photo to the server. If you need to figure out how to connect to the server then contact your host.
hope this helps |

I guess I meant the server that holds my message board? Would it be the same as the server that holds my website? |

I would have to assume so. But I guess it is possible that your forum is not hosted on the same site but I would think you would have set it up on the same server.
You can check with your host on that. Thought or check in your browser do you ever leaver your current site when you click the link to goto the message board? |

well I found fpdb and I see Snitz ...but I have no clue how to get it there. I tried opening the fpdb file and uploading the image in there but it didn't do anything. |

It appears the main forum logo is not uploaded or the path is incorrect to where the actual file is. The image placeholder with red cross shows the path as http://serendipityscrapbookdesigns.com/community/serendipity-web02.gif and that image is not uploaded. Maybe you use dreamweaver, highlight the file in your local site and 'put' to the remote server (your domain). DW will show you that the file is transfering.
A little investigation, reveals the same image you require for the forum is located in your root directory to display on the index/home page. Maybe moving a smaller copy into the community directory (where your forum files are), or change the path http://serendipityscrapbookdesigns.com/community/serendipity-web02.gif to http://serendipityscrapbookdesigns.com/serendipity-web02.gif However, if you are using the image that is on your home page firstly beware it is quite big in dimensional size. (540 by 185 pixels). Ideally you need something around 184 by 61 pixels Good luck andy |

Further to my last post, I thought I would register an account (testing) to see around the forum to help you set it up. Firstly, please do take these observations as critisism but as a forum administrator Forum link these suggestions may help you improve the feel of the forum and indeed security measures. 1. When registering, I went through the process straight away and was able to start posting as soon as I logged on. What most forum admin do is enable the email configuration. Under the admin options>Email Server Configuration set the following: Require Unique E-mail: On: E-mail Validation: On: Restrict Registration: On: Require Logon for sending Mail: On: This will check new users have an unique and valid email, stop users going straight onto the forum unless you verify the initial registration. It might be a little bit of work, but in the long run it will stop bots or annoying hackers posting the inappropriate material on your forum. 2. Maybe in slow time you might consider modifying the forum to add anti-spamming measures. See the registration page of my forum register agree. The addition of the pull down birthdate and antispam registration stops bots spamming the forum and makes the registration process to be carried out by a human touch 3. I notice that the Email Server page has not been set up to reflect the admins email address. In the setup it still shows the default: This Example: your.email@yourserver.com Outputs this: your.email@yourserver.com I hope these help you and other new snitz forum users. kind regards andy

Wow...thanks so much for all of your input. I contacted the guy who has the server and he showed me where to put the logo. The path I had was correct but he said to just upload the .jpg like I was going to upload a picture for my store.
Thanks for all of the really great tips... the only question I had was for the Email ... should it have my email instead of what is there? In both spots?
