Using Snitz version 3.4.04 and on a few occasions posts show up out of sequence. That is, person A posts a new topic or a reply; person B posts a reply to A; but B's reply shows up before A's. AS I say, it hasn't happened often but enough to raise questions from my forum members.
Any ideas on how this happens and if there is anyway to prevent it?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Are you sure that person A is posting before person B. Mainly I ask cause if 2 people hit the reply button at the same time but person B hits the Submit Reply button first his reply shows first. It is base on the time of clicking on the Submit Reply. Just want to make sure you know without a doubt person A is doing this first?

Also have you recreated this error or just something members noticed?

Yes, let's say person A posts a question. Person B replies to that question. Other persons see B's reply appear earlier than A's initial post. I have seen that happen. On the other hand, I have also had members report it to me but when I go to the forum the posts appear in correct order. I will look through the forum and see if I can post a specific instance to review.

I've never had this happen on my board, but I did see it happen on the old SpareDollar Snitz board. I don't know that they ever figured it out though.

the only way this can happen is if the server time is reset between the two posts

Here's an example:
http://www.studebakerdriversclub.com/sdc_forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=8352

Scroll down the page to a post by "5859" inquiring about "Bams50" 57 wagon. The date/time on that post is 2/3/07, 8:10:51 p.m.

Now scroll up the page to the "Bams50" reply to "5859" that shows as an earlier time: 2/3/07, 8:02:39 p.m.

"Bams50" sees that the posts are out of order and acknowledges that in another post at 8:04:35 (still preceding the "5859" post)

This has also happened with members other than these two. It's certainly not catastrophic (especially since it only occurs on rare occasions) but is certainly puzzling and annoying.

HuwR, you're probably right. I found another example from Saturday 3/3/07 at 8:47 p.m. My previous example was Saturday 2/3 in the 8 p.m. hour. Coincidence? I doubt it. Time to get my hosting company involved.

As I recall, there are none... except we had tried the Photo Album Mod as a test but ended up not using it.

was just checking incase you had any mods that affected the time, but since you haven't my best gues would be that the server time was reset between the posts
