Hi,
Was wondering if anybody had got Snitz working with 1&1 email service. If so, would you care to share how?

Many thanks

I have got it working, and I did it by reading the FAQ - http://faq.1and1.com/scripting_languages_supported/asp_active_server_pages/4.html

There is a short tutorial for using Snitz with a GMail account too, if you'd rather do that. A quick search should turn it up.

Yesterday I installed Snitz to try it out as a candidate for my groups forums. I was PLEASANTLY surprised at the ease of the install. So far, it looks great, but I have one major problem--I can't get email to work properly. It looks like I can only send email to myself.

I also use 1&1 to host my site. The FAQ in your post is somewhat helpful, although it refers to a different mail server than the one I normally use in my site, "mrelay.perfora.net".

First, why one mail server vs another for ASPMail? I've tried both in configuring Snitz with the same results. Email only to my own email addresses. This isn't going to be satisfactory.

Second, shat issues do I need to be looking for, beyond configuring the mail server itself? I've tried to find other references to editing the include files, but nothing definitive has turned up yet.

Thanks. Unless I can get email configured right in Snitz, I may have to look for a different solution. That would be disappointing because so far, I really like the rest of the features.

Never mind.

I switched to using CDONTs instead of ASPmail. That works. Now to solicit sign-ups from my group so we can start banging on this software and see how it holds up.

Hi George,
Did you have to make any changes for the Authentication?
Or was it just a case of setting the E-Mail server to the 1&1 mail server..
