Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80040e31'
Timeout expired
/bbs/admin_forums.asp, line 463
That's the error message I keep getting when I try to archive a very large forum. I've tried it in every increment and it still times out.
What can I do? All I need is to archive everything older than a year once and then I'll archive on a continual basis. |

only thing you can do is try archiving it in smaller chunks (ie everything older than 2years, then everything older than 18 months etc) you may have to tweak the code to accomplish it, but other than that you are stuffed. |

Hm. The code only lets me archive stuff up to 1 year old.
How can I adjust it to archive things older than 2 years, etc?
(I'm not much when it comes to coding without readme's) |

Stan, drop me an email. I can add some code to your database and redo your archiving routine to minimize the chance of that occurring.
Email sent. Thanks Rui. |

Sorry to break in but will you share the solution? I also have posts from 2004 in my database and would like to archive it. |

There was a mod written recently by I believe Etymon to archive one topic or something like that. Do a search and you should find it. |
