If I have a forum that's an old version, and I want to upgrade it to a newer version, how can I do it without having to reset everything? |

Just follow the directions in the readme. If you keep the database, and use replace everything else by the files in the latest version download, all your settings will be kept. Remember to use the values for strDbType and strConnstring from your current config.asp file. |

First of all, you'll need to make a note of all the mods you have installed. Then download this file which contains all the files you need to upgrade from v3.4.05 to v3.4.06. Edit config.asp to point to your database then go through all the files and reapply any changes the mods you have installed require you to make to them. Shut down your forums, upload all the files, run setup.asp, reopen your forums and you're done.

And, of course, don't forget the ever important backups.
Don't worry, it all gets easier the more familiar you become with everything
