wanting to join our site I like to do a whois by clicking on their ISP address to assure I have a valid ISP. When I do that I receive SamSpade cannot be found at that address. Anything I need to do to fix this in the code.

You will need to change the url to Samspade as the format is now different.

http://samspade.org/whois/127.0.0.1 is the correct format.

Change line 94 of pop_viewip.asp from

Response.Write "User's IP address: <a href=""http://www.samspade.org/t/ipwhois?a=" & ip & """ target=""_blank"">" & ip & "</a>" & vbNewLine

to

Response.Write "User's IP address: <a href=""http://samspade.org/whois/" & ip & """ target=""_blank"">" & ip & "</a>" & vbNewLine

Podge, that new line in pop_viewip.asp did not work. Here is the line that needs to be changed in admin_accounts_pending.asp

It starts on Line 413 with Response Write on my machine look for:

<a href=""http://www.samspade.org/t/ipwhois?a=" & ChkString(MP_MemberIP, "display") & """ target=""_blank"">" & MP_MemberIP & "</a>

change to:
<a href=""http://www.samspade.org/whois/" & ChkString(MP_MemberIP, "display") & """ target=""_blank"">" & MP_MemberIP & "</a>

check out this for more indepth whois.
Depending on the info stored by the hosting company it will tell you what city your member lives in.
I opted to replace samspade entires with this one.

note: clicking on it in this forum will give you your whois
