I think I have a few kids attempting to destroy my forum.

I have just watched 1 member log in with 3 seperate usernames but the most alarming is the post's he made today. A co admin had his hotmail account hacked although it was not his registration email used on the forum. Now someone is claiming that emails sent to another user are going to this admins hotmail account which I cannot believe. This same person is then seen on the forgotten passwords page.

My main question is. Are forgotten password attempts stored in anyway, i.e. would it be possible to see who has attempted to recover a password with what username and email address?

Thanks to anyone who can shed some light on this. brb gotta add another IP into IP-Gate!

IPGate allows you to log all forum activity, so it will let you know who accessed the password retrieval page. Likely the info about the inserted form values won't be accessible.

Ok, Cheers Rui, thought the submitted values would not be recorded. It would be nice to see exactly who's account they are trying to gain access too.

I saw it all in active users and know the culprit along with 2 clone accounts. The admin in question has new hotmail account and I'm sure he has updated his password for the forum.

Just seems a small group are trying to hack their way into a staff account on the forum

Yes, I doubt that the submitted values are recorded, though you could do it, if you so wanted.

Maybe a feature for the wishlist? Access from admin panel to see recent password requests and log IP of user requesting?

Only kidding Although I would be interested in trying this out if someone decided to try and code it as a mod.

You could just change the existing IPgate mod to save form submitted values, since the log is already possible.
