Hi, I just installed a Snitz forum that was offered through my host wahmshoppes.com
I am getting errors from people trying to sign up that their activation links lead to a "This page can not be found" error..
I logged off and registered as a new user so I could see what they were seeing ..
Here is the link I was sent:
http://www.primitivefixins.com/forum/register.asp?actkey=9n9sgz73p0051rz10k3o4g2vz8kqnvj7
I am getting the same error page..

My version is 3.4.02

As I said, I am new to this and totally clueless what my settings should be, etc.

Thanks for any help..

Steph.

Seems none of the forum files are there...

Also, if possible, you definitely want to consider using a newer version of the forum. A lot of security updates and bug fixes have been incorporated since 3.4.02.

Assuming your server supports ASP, you can download the files from the bottom of this page. Inside the zip file you'll find "readme.html" which will have some basic instructions for getting a "no frills" setup running.

If you run into any problems, do a quick search here (as the more common problems tend to, well, commonly get discussed ). If you still can't find an answer, post a question in the relevant forum and someone's usually around to help in reasonably short order.

Your forum's address is http://www.primitivefixins.com/community/, yet you've set it as http://www.primitivefixins.com/forum/ in your admin options.

This is usually the cause for such an error. I knew it as well, even went to the site, just didn't try community as an option for the folder name... maybe I even missed the link to it (is there a link Shaggy?).

Took a few minutes to find it; from the splash page click the "Primitive Fixins" logo and there's a "Visit Our Online Community" image link below the logo on that page, not in the menu.

And that would explain why I missed it. I just wasn't patient determined enough to dig for the community link.

Ok.. I have changed the forum link to community.
Is the home URL suppose to be my business website or the home URL to the form which would be http://www.primitivefixins.com/community/ ?

Thanks for all the help!

Home URL is the page you want to bring visitors to when they click "Home" in your forum which is usually, but not necessarily, your website's homepage.
