My users use Netscape. We want them to be required to use their existing NT group id and password to access the board and autologged into the board with their NT id.
This is possible, but sending the username and password via "Clear Text Authentication" is required. Netscape cannot do "NT Challenge/Response Authentication".

I just realized. I misled you in my first response because I did not read your question fully!
The real answer is: You cannot use Netscape with the Auto Login feature because Auto Login requires the use of NT Challenge/Response Authentication only.
