hi,

i have tried installing the current newest version at my host (one.com), but i get an error message stating "sqldbtype not set" in config.asp.

i made sure of all settings like UID, PW and database name, carefully made sure i chose the right dbtype and conn string, i've deleted the " ' " character from the proper lines, but it still says the same thing...

i've read the installation page and also read every post on this forum regarding this specific error, and all i can find is that I am not doing anything wrong...

double- AND triplechecked everything...

help?

Richard

Are you sure it's sqldbtype and not strdbtype? There is no sqldbtype variable in config.asp. If it is strdbtype then you've missed step 4 in the readme.

of course, strdbtype...
silly me
"strdbtype" was the term.
and it ÍS set properly i'm sure of that.
(i used to write this kind of setup instructions and stuff for my former employer, a Dutch firm developing database software, so i'm used to issuing, AND following directions to the letter)

so my question stands with your correction

Can you post a link to a *.txt copy of your config.asp 'til we have a look through it for anything that may be giving you the error?

make sure that you haven't inadvertantly uncommented more than one strdbtype line, if you not sure, just post that section of your config.asp here so we can check for you

Make sure to omit your user name, password and database name from the file, before you post the link.

Everybody is online I see.
