Dear experts,

I downloaded this great snitz forum into my local server and everything seems to work fine until I downloaded it to my server.

Now, it is still referencing my local server name.

For instance, in my local server, I have it set up like this:

FolderName/Forum folder/forum.asp. Of course once you launch it, you are automatically redirected to default.asp.

I moved it to my personal server and set it up like this:

Servername/forum folder/forum.asp.

When I get to my website and click on the forum link, I get an error because it is still looking for the folder name on my local server.

Which asp file or table on the db should I go to fix this?

I don't want to have to download a fresh copy because there are several steps required to config it to my need.

Any quick help is greatly appreciated.

Particularly of interest is the fact that when I look at one of the config files, I see strCookieURL referring to my local server name, not the remote server name.

Thanks in advance

ok, i solved this one. Everything seems to work now.

I do, however, have 2 aditional questions, please?

1, if I don't want to have users logging in to use the forum, how do I remove the login challenge?

2, i need to give someone else admin priviledge. How do I do that?

Thanks a lot

1. In the Admin Options turn off "require registration"

2. Edit their profile, and the setting is on the bottom right.

sorry it took me awhile to get back here. I didn't want to get back here without trying everything first.

What I found so far is that that option is to turn means that a particular user cannot view a particular post.

Unless I read it wrong, what we wanted is to not allow anyone to have to log in before using the forum because this is for students.

I also wanted to know if it is possible to have more than one admin to the forum.

So far, I am the only admin. If it possible, how do I make it happen?

When I went into Admin Options, this feature called "require registration" is already off.

Let me explain the steps I took.

When into forum,
sign in as Admin,
Clicked on "Admin Options"
Clicked on "Main Forum Configuration"

Inside "Main Forum Configuration", there is a feature called
"Require Registration". If this is the feature you are referring to, it is already on the Off position (radio button).

Yet, it challenges people for login credentials.

What am I missing?

I see no reason for the login challenge unless Require Registration is set to On... unless we're misunderstanding what you mean by login challenge.
