Hi guys, I think I'm almost done with my redesign (does it ever finish?) but the site's already live.
I'll be the first one to admit that the icons are all over the place. I am not artistic at all and I have had to create them from scratch. Ok enough excuses.
The forum is here: http://www.azsalsa.net/forum login: test passwrd: test
Let me know what you think. Thanks.
And thank you for this excellent product, by the way.

thanks. There are a lot of photos. they're categorized by venue and date. There is a category link on the left hand side (the venue names). The default display is the most recent ones (up to 2 months old). you can click on the album link to view other "albums"

Nice!!! A bit grey, but very stylish! I love the logo you created! Sheer brilliance! There's a 'glitch' with the rounder corners though, I guess. It seems a bit off, e.g. not round. |

Very well done site. I love the color scheme and the logo you came up with. Nice job all around!
Makes me miss salsa dancing. I haven't been in over a year. |

Thanks all for the kind words. The site is over a year old now and so is the forum, but the look is new. I just updated the look and added a lot of stuff 2 weeks ago. The old forum was basically just YASF with funky colors.
By the way, MarcelG, those not-so-round corners have been bugging me but I don't know how to make it perfectly round using the rounded rectangle tool in photoshop. I can probably do it using another tool in photoshop but I'd have to do some research.
Also, here are the mods I've done: Avatar Auto Resize Images Events calendar Exchange Page drop down selection with numberurls Front Page News - it's there but but not really used Header Cell image private messages Referer Mod Site integration Spell Check - ieSpell
I added a "cancel" button (onClick="history.go(-1)") in the Post.asp (reply or new topic) because users asked for this feature. |

Thanks. This looks like what I need. I will play with this and see if I can get the shadow thingy as well. I've seen that in CSS too.

I really only have a basic knowledge of vbscript. And compared to most guys here, I'm an amateur. But I'm quite patient and persistent (some people use the word "annoying"). |

I'm using slide show pro (http://www.slideshowpro.net) It's Flash (customizable--- to a point) and looks for an XML file for the photo gallery. I created an asp page that spits out XML so that I can use my database and make the gallery fully dynamic.
To compliment that I also did scripts for: 1. upload page (basic upload - 1 file at a time) for users. I made it to get filename, resize the pic to a standard size with thumbnails and save it to the database. 2 clicks for the users plus whatever comment the user wants to put in for the pic. 2. for batch uploads (users usually upload 20 or more at a time via FTP) I created a script that will check the upload folder and compare all the JPGs to the photos in the database. The ones that are not there (in the DB) are then shown as a list and the user can select (checkbox) which ones he/she wants to add.
Once added, all the selected pics are resized and saved and will appear in the album.
I have a screenshot here: http://www.azsalsa.net/tempvids/screenshot.jpg
Sorry I tend to get verbose.

I'm going to look into that a little more. I think that's a lot closer to what I want for the new version of the Jesus Joshua site than what I have now (not yet live) |
