Hello again, sorry if I'm being a pain here.
I just added the Avatars mod and from a stand point everything seems to be okay. The trouble I have is:
1: When I try to upload new avatars I get an error Avatar Files Server.MapPath() error 'ASP 0173 : 80004005' Invalid Path Character
/forum/avatar_upload.asp, line 143
An invalid character was specified in the Path parameter for the MapPath method.
I did not change anything to this file. I checked the avatar_upload.asp and this is what line 143 has: strPath = Server.Mappath(strPath)
2: I uploaded a avatar up to my server and linked to it from the avatar admin tool. I selected it for me and it shows in my profile and everything but not in the post. I did a test post and it still will not show up. I went through the topic.asp and everything seems okay. But there is some stuff at the bottum of the directions that says For snitz 3.4, 3.4.0.1 and 3.4.0.2 follow this step but since I'm using .05 I skipped them. I'm not very savy at this but I'm sure I need to do somthing with them I GOT THIS ONE FIXED-I used the For snitz 3.4.0.3 follow this step option and all works well (I think)
Thank you for any light you could shed on this... Vince

I just noticed 1 more
I did a test account to make sure everything was good there. Everything is good till you click on the link in your e-mail to verify it. You get a page that says. ADODB.Recordset error '800a0cc1'
Item cannot be found in the collection corresponding to the requested name or ordinal.
/forum/register.asp, line 181
I checked line 181 in the register.asp and this is what it has strSql = strSql & ", '" & chkString(rsKey("M_AUHIDE"),"SQLString") & "'"
I did not change anything to this line. But I did add something two lines down.... Any thoughts on this? |

I don't know, but these are errors that have come up before, so if you've already done exhaustive searches (don't forget the archives), you should say so.
Really, because of the casual nature of a lot of mods, you're going to have to get in the habit of searching for problems both before and after installation. It's not unusual to take longer searching for problems and solutions than it takes to install the mod. |

Hi dave, Sorry I didn't think about putting that I already searched. I'm still learning the ropes. I searched from the search page with "search all forums". Would the archives be included with the results?

The archives aren't included in the results. You need to check the Archives check-box to search them. |

I can't figure it out, I think I have decided to do it the long way. Upload them and then just link to them.... I'm freaked out about trying the other 5 mods I wanted to add. Maybe I will see if someone would like to do them for me and I could pay if the price is not to high... |
