Is it possible to require registration for some categories via ID and password, yet have one that is open requiring no ID and password to post?
If the answer is to create a new forum, great, but some help would be appriciated, I can't seem to find a way to make that happen
Thanks |

I already have forums with id and password established, I want one with no id and password requirements. |

Do you want a topic where they are able to post without registering? |

Yes, I do believe that's what I'm looking for. I want all other areas secured (which I currently have), but add a new topic, forum, category open to any for viewing and posting without registering.
I want people to be able to read all the forums, members only post, but one area where anyone can read and post without registering. |

Most of the MODs I know of are an "all or nothing" anonymous user...
but if you are feeling adventurous, you could take the UserGroups MOD, and set up a Guest account that has access to that forum only.... |

I'll look at it and see if I'm that adventurous, probably not LOL, would the guest account be able to view all other areas, just not post?
I just did some looking around and can't seem to located the User Group mod? |

If you check the "Archives" check-box on the search page, it will search all archived topics. Took me a while to learn to make two searches each time I needed to find something...
I'm fairly certain that somebody put it up on SnitzBitz...
If you set up an account called "Guest" and used the UserGroups MOD, you would be able to grant that user whatever access you wanted for each of the forums.... unless my caffeine deficiency is getting the better of me... |

I guess the gremlins were on my machine last night, it kept locking up, I just got it to download, thanks.
I am wondering, I read some messages after that post speaking to some errors, have they been fixed in this version I just downloaded? |

I'm not sure I'm understanding this correctly, but the EZ Anonymous MOD [though a bear to install] does this pretty well - forum-by-forum. However, everyone who posts without registering has the same name [of your choosing], plus a number ... i.e. User1, User2, etc. |
