I used to have the forum on a subweb and everything worked fine. Then my provider decided to change things and no longer allows subwebs. So, I bought a new domain called dodfire.net for the forum.

I posted everything as directed in the documentation. I edited the config.asp file with notepad, identifying the database as "access" and specifying the physical path to it, and uploaded it with Cute FTP/ASCII. But I keep getting the error saying:

There has been a problem...

Your strDBType is not set, please edit your config.asp
to reflect your database type.

The site accepts ASP and I have FP extensions enabled (in case I do other things here).

I have the database posted in a rw subfolder in the "forum" directory.

Does anyone have any suggestions that may help? Thank you.

Are you sure you uncommented the line that says

strDBType="access"

in config.asp?

I just noticed that in the asp the statement is strDBType = "access". There are spaces on each side of the =, unlike what you quoted. Would that be the problem?

No, that wouldn't be the problem. Can you save your config.asp file as config.txt, upload it to your site and post a link to it? You can hide the path to the database, that is not needed.

I'm not sure, but you may have an extra " in there.
