You could try to upload all of the forum files again and start from scratch then. When FrontPage asks you about the database file, choose yes so it will allow it to have read/write permissions enabled for it.
When you upload the files with FrontPage, you should import them. Go to File > Import. If you save the forum files in a folder, then choose Add Folder |

Ok, so I would download and unzip a brand new file, import all of it into frontpage, edit the page as you do and try publishing it? |

You may just be able to import only the database if you have not changed any other files with the exception of the config.asp file. |

If it doesn't work this time, I'll have to try to help you tomorrow. It's getting late here...
I'll wait a little bit to see what happens... |

I imported the two new files and tried again, I am getting this error again There has been an error !!
The database could not be opened !! Check your config.asp file and set the strConnString so it points to the database. Also check if strDBType is set to the right databasetype.
Code : 80004005
Error Description : Unspecified error
Click here to retry. I will try to reimport all the files again and try the other strings, if it doesnt work I will try again tomorrow. Thank you for trying to help, I really appretiate it. |

Is this path exactly right:
C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\cranbrookmixedslopitch.com\balltalk\snitz_forums_2000.mdb
This is where your whereami.asp file says your database is. However, you may need to change it somewhat. You say your database file is in a folder named fpdb. Is this folder inside of your balltalk folder? Is it in the root directory along with your balltalk folder? Make sure this is exactly right. |

what would this mean?
Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005'
Unspecified error
/forum/inc_header.asp, line 111
Any chance there is someone out there that would want to set this up and publish it and I could just link to it lol
I am very frustrated, I realize most people can do this and I dont understand why after everything I try I get an error...its usually different from the one before but its an error. I will try again tomorrow. |

I'm not sure about the error above, but I know that (according to the MSDN) if you have an Access database open in Access (the MSO program) you may not be able to work with it programatically.... if the MSDN article is true than if the host has it open in Access it could be why it is giving you so much trouble. |

The unspecified error is a situation that it's hard to get rid of. Don't you have an option to use a MySQL or SQL Server database? I don't think you will be able to get around that situation, since the exact error origin is unknown. |
