Time to trim the Access db somehow. What's the easiest way to offload old, archived posts before I delete them? And the best format so they're still readable/searchable by all?
On a side note, when I last went looking, I saw an option somewhere to compress the db. But when I tried to run it I got an error about not being able to run because the admin was logged in. Duh. Am I missing something here - of course I was logged in.?
TIA |

That's not possible, you cannot remove the archived posts and still be able to access them. With a change in code, maybe it could be possible, but maybe you should just consider upgrading to SQL Server or MySQL. |

No, no. I was thinking about getting them out of the db entirely. To a text file maybe. Obviously I could do this manually, but what a pita.
My Access db is 35mb right now, and our host only offers 50mb MS SQL dbs, so I'm worried. Would going to SQL Server actually result in a lower db file size? |
