Is it possible to uninstall the Active Users MOD? I backed up the asp pages that needed modification so that part would be easy. However, what about the database? Is it save to leave it as is or will it cause problems?

What would happen if I simply tried to install it again overtop of the existing database (Access)?

This MOD is not working correctly for me and I want to start over again with it.

I would think that leaving the database "as is" would be safe - assuming that:

1. The problems aren't the result of corruption in the database; and,
2. You run across and install another mod that adds variables with the same name.

However, since you're wanting to reinstall, and not knowing if the problems result from the files or the database, it would probably be best to clean up the database and re-run the dbs file. You can always open the dbs file and take a gander at the changes. As I recall, there are all the new variables added in CONFIG_NEW, new fields in MEMBERS and MEMEBERS_PENDING and possibly some other changes (I seem to recall a new table).

Someone more knowledgable than am I may want to correct me, but I would think you should be able to make a copy of the database and "undo" the changes (delete any new tables, delete fields in existing tables, delete the new variables in CONFIG_NEW) and then copy the "clean" database over the other after removing/editing the files that were added or changed by the mod.

But I haven't tried it, so until one of the board pros comes along, proceed at your own risk, and make backups of all files and the database.

It is rather easy to remove some of the changes for the AU-mod, while some require a bit more work. Im going create a complete remove-dbs for the mod, but I need a little time to do that. I'll post an update here when Im done.
