I have installed the latest Active Users MOD and have noticed that I will have about 4 or 5 guests listed who are browsing the forum. The issue is that all of them have a nearly identical IP address and have logged in within seconds of each other. This to me seems unusal. I believe that these "guests" are really the same person. How is it they are browsing multiple times in the same session? Is this a cookie issue or have I made a mistake installing this MOD? (I do not get any error messages).
They're bots more than likely. I often will have up to as many as 30 bots on the site at once, but it may only be 3 or 4 different engines. Let's see if I can guess, is it one of these...
It could be bots... I didn't think of that. But the IP's are not like the ones you listed. Just this morning, there were 3 guests all logged in within seconds of each other. The IP's were:
207.xxx.xxx.8 207.xxx.xxx.74 207.xxx.xxx.7
The x's above are all the same number. Are these bots too?
I won't worry about it then. What was bothering me was that when I looked at where they were in my site, it said they were posting and replying to messages which would be impossible since they weren't logged in.

Yes, you need to tweak your robots.txt to try to keep them out of there. Post.asp can actually be indexed with a post in it! They get it from the logs. Here is what I have banned...
I'm noticing something strange on my Forum. I have the Active Users MOD and the Recently Seen Members MOD installed.
When a member is signed in on the site, he is showing up as a guest and his username does not appear in the members online section. Also, they are never updated in the Recently Seen Members MOD.
I do not have the Active Users MOD set to allow anonymous.
