I run a private board, thus a potential member goes through the registration process and is then presented with this information:

==BTW==================
the file is this one: http://#####/register.asp?mode=DoIt

=========================================
Your Registration Is Almost Complete!

The Administrator has restricted registration on this forum. You will receive an e-mail as soon as the Administrator approves your request.

==========================================

The problem is the screen times out very quickly and returns the user to the initial Registration screen and my new users complain they did not see the message and naturally try re-registering, which is a nuisance for them and for my Membership Administrator.

Is there a way to hold this screen much longer (without effecting the other screens times in the software) or to build a small pop-up information window for the user so they totally understand they now have to await approval and an email, which can take a few hours or even longer in some cases.

yes, in register.asp, do a search for

Response.Write " <meta http-equiv=""Refresh"" content=""5; URL="

should be around line 654, change the 5 to something larger

I was wondering about this too. Thanks for posting NiteOwl and thanks also for the reply HuwR

I've changed mine to 60...which gives users plenty of time to read the message (which I plan to reword slightly soon) or click the Back To Forum link themselves.
