I believe I posted this question previously on the Snitz forum and I did not get any results so I would like to ask again. We are using Snitz at the http://www.electricalknowledge.com The search function works fairly well but I'm looking for a better version. When you search for a particular word it shows you a whole bunch of topics. Presumably these topics contain posts that contain the word. The problem is that it is quite laborious to go through and find the actual locations of the hits. I'm hoping for a better search feature that would pop up the hit and [u]a few words either side of the hit[/b] so I can quickly judge whether or not it's a relevant hit and go on to the next one.

I think I've seen something like that for a previous version, but I don't know if there is anything currently available for the 3.4.x version of Snitz.

I also seem to remember not too far back there was a thread on returning the posts instead of the threads that contained the search terms. Have you searched for anything along those lines in here?

This could be a good place to start: http://forum.snitz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=58991&SearchTerms=search+returns+posts

It's not quite what you're looking for but there is a mod floating around that adds a link to search.asp to open a pop-up containing all posts in a topic with your search terms highlighted; makes it a bit easier to spot the posts you're looking for.
