18/20 - reflection of age??? |
Sadly, most Family Court Judges wrongfully reward opportunistic gold diggers that use our children unjustly as "instruments" of power.

Fun, but at least one answer is incorrect. I talked with a person who wrote a virus for a DG Nova minicomputer system in about 1975 or 1976. I also disagree with virus vs. worm definition.
There didn't seem to be all that much history in the quiz, at least nothing about most of significant computer history. Asking about BitTorrent is hardly historical.
What about Univac, the Babbage, Schockley and the transistor and how that changed digital computing, lasers, Grace Hopper and the story of how the term "bug" came about, CDC, Burroughs, Univac, DEC, CDC, and so much more.
PS - I played Spacewar in 1969 or thereabouts using a trackball on a graphical display screen :)

Only 11/20 with a score of 400.
And a few of those I was just guessing well. |

OK, here's a start at some more quiz questions.
1. Who was Charles Babbage and what did he do? 2. When did the development of the first electronic digital computer start? And why did the Army fund it? 3. According to legend, how did the term "bug" originate? 4. When was the first magnetic disk introduced? 5. When was the first magnetic drum memory introduced? 6. When was the parallel printer port interface used in PC's developed? By what company? 7. What was the first popular microcomputer OS? What OS was it based on? 8. What company created the first 1200 baud full-duplex modem? When? 9. What companies were the "seven dwarfs" of "IBM and the seven dwarfs" 10. What was the Carterfone Decision's impact on computing?
BTW, anyone interested in some very early military computing history could find the book "when computers went to sea", a detailed history of the US Navy NTDS (Naval Tactical Data System), much of the design was done by a young guy named Seymour Cray. I worked on that stuff, some of the equipment used surface-mounted IC's in the 1960's.
