I have been in and out of threads....
What i would like to do is setup a forum and create a seperate email other than the default Admin email so that when anyone post a new topic or a reply i will be able to verify what gets posted. I enabled subscriptions but i believe it only going to the Admin email... any suggestions?

Create a new account with that email and subscribe to the board using it.

That happens with all accounts or just that one? Have you enabled subscriptions at the different levels: board, category and forum?

well this is the only account i am doing this with. and yes subscriptions are set for Forum Subcriptons at the board, forum, and category

You won't get notified to your own posts. How are you testing it?

Also, are other email functions working?

Ok, figured it out! Thanks for your help, i was posting as my self, and just changed it right before you sent that last reply! thanks, also i saw a post in here about getting rid of the "New Post" option? is that possible at all? it would be convient so that the kids at this school do not post at topic and just have them just have the option to relpy.

You'd better configure your forums to allow moderation of the initial post and then you can reject any attempt to start new topics.
