I know of another forum that has link below that looks like a paper clip and you click it and a little window comes askeing you to choss the file that you wish to upload. How do I get this opition?

Ok I have installed the file up load mod. It say run the attachments.sql in MS Query Analyzer. That I do not understand. Where do I find (MS Query Analyzer). The Furum works up until I go to post the post and pic I chose to up load. The I get.

Server object error 'ASP 0177 : 800401f3'

Server.CreateObject Failed

/snitforum/post_info.asp, line 45

800401f3

I have restarted the server and it did not help. I am using win server 2003.

What database are you using?

I guess you're using Ben's File Attachment MOD? If yes, you can download a DBS file which you can use via MOD DB Setup in your Admin Options in this post.

quote:
Server object error 'ASP 0177 : 800401f3'

Server.CreateObject Failed

/snitforum/post_info.asp, line 45

Looks like a component (in this case ASPSmartUpload which is required by Ben's MOD) is not installed on your server.
You'll have to either install it or use another MOD.

Also, please refrain from posting the same question more than once.

Ok I have installed the Bens file attachment mod. In the beginning the first time had a upload buuton when posting. Now it is not there. The one on top is but the one that is suppose to be in there from Bens or aspsmartupload.

Uploading pics to posts is a Really Bad Idea IMHO. There's so many free places to host images these days I just don't want to be bothered on my little forum. All those pics will really add up after a while.

You are aware you can use the url and img tags to put pics into your posts without uploading them to your site?

IMO, that is pretty bad advice. You can never rely on these "free" photo storage places staying online. Besides...space is extremely cheap these days.

Agreed !!! ... not to mention that if your poor members pick the wrong freebie hoster, they can't remote link to it.
