I am running the forum on Win 2003 Server IIS6 and have NT authentication enabled and use an Access Database. When i get a user to visit the forum for the first time, the first page they see is an error page that says:-

Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005'

Operation must use an updateable query.

/forum/register.asp, line 574

I have checked this line in register.asp and it is:-

my_Conn.Execute (strSql),,adCmdText + adExecuteNoRecords

Is this a permission error? how do i fix it?

how do i fix it? Try searching on this site for :

I know to search for the error but most people use anonymous access but as i use the forum on my companies intranet i do not have anonymous access enabled.

Thanks.had a look round and found the problem. Just another write tick box in IIS!
