Hi, I'm having a huge problem with my admin options. I can't edit any of my members, in case they lose passwords, and also I can edit myself either. I have two names listed as the same name, which one is a player name and the other is the adminstrator name, which is the same name. Also my contact us page is blank, not list any contact information. I can't give permission to appoint moderators either. PLEASE help..
My url is www.royalgolftour.net/forum/ I'm running a database system (.asp) I downloaded the newest version of Forums. |

Any error messages? Do you have mods installed?
P.S.: Next time try to post in the correct forum, or do you think your problem should be "announced" to the whole community? |

As you have 2 users with the same name in the database, then my feeling is that someone edited the DB (which I would guess is Access DB), once you open the database up and change one of the names to a diffent one, then you will be able to edit users, provided that you are an admin.
The contact page has nothing to do with the forum, as the software doesn't come with a Contact Us page. This you will have to sort out with your coding. For some reason you have sent the Contact Us link to http://www.royalgolftour.net/forum/about.asp which is not a Snitz page.
Try that and if you need a further hand, please provide a login to test with.

David, there are some conditions in which a new user registration gets duplicated. I have seen that in several Snitz forums. I haven't been able to reproduce the situation myself, but I have seen it. I saw both with Access and MySQL. |

Ruirib, I had seen it as well, but found that if the forum operator actually changed one of the duplicate names it would fix the issue with what shown above. On most of the times I had seen the duplicate names was due to a manual edit of the DB and entered in to it.
lta1707, have you also worked out the about.asp page that you have, and if not do you want a hand which will require a test login to see what is happening and a post to a text link to the page?

Classicmotorcycling, Actually I just deleted the link. Most of my members know who I am and if they have questions they either email me or just post it in the message boards anyways. So no need in having the link there anyways.
Thanks for all your help everyone its great to know that my questions were answered quick and with success.
My may have more questions later when I start putting some MODs in. |
