after reinstalling XP-i'm getting this
error when trying to install some programs.
(even som from the CD wich works fine befor))

Have you tried to un-install your Antivirus/Firewall ?

hmm - when you reinstalled XP, did you remember to format your hard-disk first?

didn't format it cause i have ;ot's of data i need.

and i don't have anti virus yes cause i can't
install it-part of the problem.

and i have lot's of space...20giga free.

well the message suggests you could be having swapfile problems, so maybe try setting your swapfile drive(s) diffeently?

I would transfer the data to an another computer or a harddrive, and format your computer. Sometimes, there´s just no other way, and backup is always a good idea anyway.

it may be quicker to just do it than keep avoiding it...back up the essentials, and 'flatten and rebuild'

jfyi amongst my colleagues (biiig software company you've heard of) it is common knowledge that F&R is the best answer to this king of problem every time.
