I need to use sql reporting service to draw graphs with datatable attached at the bottom of the X-axis. I know this can be done with Excel but I can't find a way to do it with the chart object of reporting service. Does anyone know if reporting service has such capabilities? If it does, how I can do it. I also need to draw graphs with two y-axis, one at each end of the graph, can this be done? Thanks for your help.

Fusion Charts is giving away their 'lite' version for free. It may have what you need. I've tinkered with it a little here and there, and am planning to start using it more extensively. The only catch is that the client needs to have Flash Player 6 or better in order to see the chart. Since I'm working on an Intranet, it hasn't been an issue. But its something you may need to consider.

Or try www.dundas.com.

I have to say I'm really surprised you cannot plot database data with SRS though, I'd have thought this would be core functionality?

I'll have to keep that one in mind if we ever put the .NET framework on the web server.

heh heh can you tell I'm on hardcore painkillers at the moment...yes, Dundas stuff is all .NET, although I guess if sleepy is having issues with SRS I'm guessing they have the resources to run .NET if needs be ;-)

Is anyone familiar with reporting service? I can't find way to draw datatable at the bottom of the graph but maybe there's something I don't know about SRS. I can't use third party graphic tools.

Wow, I'm impressed by the quality of the charts they provide in their professional edition. Yesterday I made some tests with the implementation of the Lite version. It's really easy to install, maybe a little bit limited, but it's the lite version of course.
When I look at the Dundas charts I don't find the same level of graphical designs. The website of Dundas is badly done and certainly does not give out enough of the possibilites of their product, except if you install their demo.

Glad you liked it. I've been working with it for a little while now and I've been quite happy. So far the 'Lite' version has been more than sufficient for what I need. The best part is that the actual drawing of the chart is handled client-side, saving a few server cycles.

Sleepy, did you find any help yet?
