Okay, seeing I'm looking for a piece of PHP/MySQL software this 'might' not be the correct place to ask, but hey, I'm stubborn
I've acquired 7.5 gigabytes of space and 330 gigabytes of monthly traffic which I'd like to spend to the max on hosting image/video files. Therefore, I'm looking for a piece of PHP scripting that enables uploading based on user priviliges includes GD support (for on the fly image resizing) definable max file size (per user/group) per user/group storage quota per user/group bandwidth quota per user definable file types If anyone knows a (free) script for this purpose, I'd be a very happy man! |

I hope you find something, I'd rather have this in asp, but I can be satisfied with php. =) Let us know if you find what you're looking for!

I've seen the script of celerondude in action and it looks amazing! Installing it is giving me headaches though. I think it's the configuration of the host I'm using, so I'll contact them if they know what's going on. It feels strange btw ; I've never worked with PHP, so things like 'PHP Safe Mode', 'PHP Safe Mode GID' and 'PHP Register Globals' are kinda new to me. Especially the errors I'm seeing... |

Well, it seems to be working now. (finding some unpainted wood to knock on...) The super-node setup of Servage.net seems to be causing some problems (lost sessions etc), but the rest works! Including the bandwith monitoring per user!

Cool, tried it! =) May be offtopic, but how do I share files in that? I saw that you had a "public" folder? And can a user create folders? I think I might have to install that one =)

Yep, a user can create his/her own folders, which can be set to either private or public. There's no support for advanced permissions yet (private shared folders etc), but I read that that celerondude guy is working on a MySQL version, with some more features. Sounds very promising!
BTW ; just noticed the following ; even though a user puts a file in a 'private' folder, everyone can download that file, íf they have the full path to that file. So, private means 'unbrowsable', instead of 'only accessible to the owner'. Not a big problem, but a slight difference perception. |

Yep, version 6.2 has that feature available. You can define it for new users. Once changed, you need to change it manually for every user that was already registered. Same goes for the allowed file types. |
