I am working on the next version of our in-house training software. My goal is to tie the classroom flyer system, and the online education system into the forum. I'd like to use the forum's user management system to make life infinatly easier.

To make things easier on the staff, I'd like to tie into the NT login. If everybody had their own account, I wouldn't be posting this (probably some other question ). Since some departments only use the computers for their online testing, they are given a generic account with limited access.

Currently I've been using DB authentication for this very reason. (Can you imagine trying to follow a conversation between three people using the same name? )

What I'd like to do is use the NT login for those that have them, and if someone uses a generic account, switch to the DB authentication. If possible, I'd like to pull as much information from the NT accounts information, and poll for changes.

One of my concerns though, is what will happen to those people who made thier account using the same name as thier NT login? Will it say that name already exsists, or will it automatically associate the two?

Oh, and whoever can help me with this: you can rest on the seventh day.

Anybody?

If I can't get help with the filtering, what about the concern mentioned above?

It appears so... I guess I'll just give it the ol' college try.
