Open your browser to setup.asp?RC=5 is all that's needed.

(SQL Server) Data Transformation Services. It's one of the tools you can install with SQL Server.

When you run this, does it disable your access database in any way? In other words, can I run this to create the SQL database but leave my existing Access database intact during the process?

Or should I shut down the forums before running this setup?

If possible you need to create the database from another folder. Run setup.asp as explained to create the SQL Server database and then shutdown the forum. Use DTS to transfer the data from the Access DB to SQL Server.

The transfer process won't affect the Access database.

It won't affect your Access database. In simple terms, it will read the data in Access and re-create it in MSSQL.

To be safe, copy the Access db so you have a backup.

Thanks! Sounds like the safest method would be to shut down the forum, download a copy of the database, then run the setup. After the setup is complete, I assume the forums will come back up running off of SQL. Then the fun begins to figure out which mods I have broken.

That's not a good way to do it. You need to run the mod setup for the mods you have, or run the risk of the data transfer process to cause problems with the database structure.
