my smtp server requires authentication and im having trouble getting my forums to send mail. ive used the search feature on this forum and found the 3 lines on the mail page. ive removed the ' marks on the 3 lines and added valid account information but it still wont send mail. i didnt have a problem before requiring SMTP authentication so im sure its not a server issue. any help would be appreciated.

im running on a win2k3 server using cdosys.

Try changing CDOBasic to 1 e.g.

Flds("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/smtpauthenticate") = 1 'cdoBasic


Do the mail server logs show anything?

Any body figured out this problem yet.

I tried
("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/smtpauthenticate") = 1 'cdoBasic

I tried changing the CDOBasic to 1 e.g. I just gat an error then.

I have the same problem it says thst it sent tha mail but never recieve it.
This account was hacked into by Image, a very honest guy as you all can see! Stealing people's passwords is his pasttime. Beware of this, before you register at his forums!

Have you uncommented the three lines in the CDOSYS section and entered your email address and password in the relevant places?
