The threats and intimadation are all in e-mails. I have all copyies of e-mails from when I entered in to the agreement with the club. I learnt a long time ago to keep all types of things just in case..
I think it places you on the absolute high ground, the fact that you bought the domain for yourself a long time prior to their first contact. I still suggest switching to paper though - it'll make things feel more formal and distant, and shows you mean business and won't just roll over to get rooted (correct me if I'm wrong, but that phrase is valid Oz? )

out of courtesy and to show no ill feeling I would inform them of their persistent stupidity, but perhaps not word it like that
