Im pretty new at this and i just put a forum up. There aren't many members though because i can't advertise my site very well. i would love it if you became a member. it would really help my site grow.

If you get rid of the rubbish that pops up and tries to take over the computer then you might get more registering. |

Yesterday there were 2 pop-ups and 1 being a blank window, the other had advertising. Now the about:blank is the only one that still pops-up, but I kill that off, and try to look at the code, but it is blank, which doesn't mean nothing as it could be called in hidden code like you can do in asp.
Like what has been mentioned in another topic to you, you need to work out what you are offering to your users, then target those users and do not SPAM other forums trying to get members when you do not know what you are offering.

ok i think i know why some of you are seeing pop ups. My server host really sucks since it's free and after the bandwidth is exceeded it redirects to an alternate site. I have a better host but it doesn't support active server pages (.asp) files. it supports html though. Is there anyway to get snitz forums on there? Any patchs or ways around it if it doesn't support that file type? |

No it wasn't that. That is totally different to what I was getting. I was getting to your forum, but I had a full screen page of what appeared to be advertising for a dating site, and the about:blank was still poping up. Also, if you want members, you need to get a host that doesn't restirct your bandwith.
Also this site is not the place to be talking about hosting as there is one of the Moderators who runs another site for that.

Without talking about hosting though ... there is no way to run ASP on a HTML only site. But I would recommend switching to another hoster that doesn't force popups onto everyone. |
