I've been a regular visitor in the photoblog circles and one of the blogger posted this out of his normal photo posts. http://artemiaassociates.com/post.html
Can I hear from those in New Orleans? Is it going to be so bad?
I don't live there, but we had plans to visit New Orleans in October (next month practically). I asked my wife to cancel the airline tickets (she says its too late).
New Orleans will be wiped out. I think very few people in the USA understand the enormity of the disaster that is decending.
Even though our reservations are for the end of October, I don't think that city will have recovered by then. It might take them over a year to recover.
the trauma from last Asian Tsunami has not yet completely gone away... many towns and villages were completely wiped out. at least this one people are prepared for it.
I'm watching the news, and it is hard to believe that I am looking at the USA. It looks like a third world country. It will take years to fully recover from this. But, we Americans are strong and resilient people. We will pull together and get through this. It will be interesting to see if any other countries come to our aid. It seems that everyone EXPECTS our help, but won't give it when we need it.
