 HELP: Setup.asp problems.

After installing and following installation instructions ( twice:-) )i get
the following error message:
if i run setup.asp it tells me installation successful, and i know the paths
are correct.

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Operation must use an updateable
query.
/forum/inc_functions.asp, line 644
any ideas/hints would be appreciated :-)

Installing on NT4 sp6a, access 97 used as db

This is true. If the user is using access 97 first time, they can get through setup without a problem and still have a problem running it because there is no update to the database in setup(at least I don't think there is). There is still a permission problem with the directory and/or database.....

Mike, we've got to find a better way for you to pass these here. It kinda makes your heart jump when you post a message with the words "HELP" in the title....

It might be a good idea to tweak setup.asp a bit so, when using Access, when you run it, it doesn't only test of it can read from the tables, but also tries a write action.
There the error can be caught and dealt with nicely, and we could tell users to always run setup.asp after installing.

Just a question, I dont want to get anyone mad. Why is Reinsnitz asking all these questions when it says that he is a snitz forum admin? Is this not the real person it is supposed to be or what? Just wondering? Thanks.
