Hi I am having problems getting a chat feature on my forum. My setup is the current version for Snitz, Win98se with PWS. Can someone tell me which chat application will work on this setup. I would like to run this on my snitz forum and not my website. I don't have asp codeing experience so I'm limited to cut and paste modding of the asp files if needed.
Conquerchat is what ur looking for, you can allow snitz to tell it who the user is And both here and at their forums there are plenty of topics showing how do set this up.
Thanks for the reply Helterskelter I tried Conquerchat 1.2 and 4.4 I can get 1.2 to work but can't find any documentaion on how to remove the chat text after a certain period of time and if a user doesn't log off the next time he returns to the chat page to log on he is told that that user name is already in use. I can get 4.4 to load to the login screen but as soon as I go to log in I get an error message saying the maximum users has been reached. I've searched and can't seem to find any documentation on how to fix either problem on each version. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Helterskelter we are making progress but the forum chat is still not working. Can you please visit my site and see if you know how to bypass the login screen. Or if you would be so kind as to look over my inc_header.asp file for me.
Now I get a popup window for the chat with my user name already filled in but when I click login I still get the max number of users has been reached error. I read the post you provide and edited my file as per s5design's instructions and not by how kiddanger did his because my file didn't look like his.
Just dome some reading at their forum with is error, and it looks at some peeps running a on a home comp (win XP and Pro) seam to be having a simular problem.
I cant find anything that corrects this problem yet, perhaps you'll do better asking there.
Sorry it's nothing simple, but all i can find is mainly to check IIS is set up correctly and reset your sever.
