Is anyone aware of a program that will limit the time a child can use the internet for? My 12 year old seems to have a hard time turning of some online games he's been playing. I'd like something that I can set as like a timer that will automatically turn off his internet access. Thanks. |

I use a program for my children called: CCProxy from YoungzSoft. It allows you to specify times and can restrict down to MAC addresses and is free for up to 3 users. It is nice and easy to set up as well.
I hope that helps..
[edit for a simple quotation]Plus it is not for ClassicmotorCycling. |

Some Routers have this capability too, my old SMC Barricade for one. |

CCProxy? ClassicmotorCycling Proxy by any chance? ;-)
I know it's a pay-for, but MSN offer quite a high level of parental controls, including several preconfigured age-band settings, IM monitoring, browser controlling, child spying etc. I think you can configure certain timeslots for applications to run, too (ie game X available between 6pm and 8pm, Messenger between 5pm and 7pm, or whatnot)

Hmm, that was what I tried first, I'd rather not feel like the bad guy all the time. This technique has not been too successful. Plus, he does not have a PC in his room yet, but if he does, I'd like to have some control over it. I downloaded a trial of CyberPatrol. It might have what I want. It allows me to set times he can use it, as well as a total amount of time for each day.
