I'm using Snitz 3.4.05 with the following mods: Active User, Smile Manager Plus, Private Messages, and Avatars using a MySql database.

Several forum members cannot use the anonymous user feature, even though it has been allowed in the Active Users Config in the admin panel.

I've even gone into member profiles for them and changed Show in Active Users from Yes to No, yet after clicking Submit their profile reverts to the default setting.

The anonymous user over ride is set to Admin and Moderators.

What could be causing this problem? The fact that it only effects some members and not all is confusing.

Thank you for your help.

That is an odd behaviour. Those who it doesn't work for, are they normal members or moderators? What database are you using?

Can you recreate this problem yourself? To test it, it is easiest to use two different browsers and two accounts (I assume you have a test-account that you can use). Set your admin account to anonymous and use your test-account to see if you can see the admin-account or not.

I'm using a MySql database. Yesterday I had two members who could not enable the Anonymous User function. Today...no one can. I changed my profile to anonymous, as soon I clicked Submit and the page refreshed, it was back to the default setting.

Thanks for your help!

Have you made any changes to inc_profile.asp or pop_profile.asp recently?

Nope, the only changes I've made lately have been to add smilies in inc_func_common and inc_iconfiles.

I put up a .txt of both files.

(.txt links removed after problem fixed. Thanks!)

Thanks again.

The M_AUHIDE field is not being updated when profiles are edited or modified. Crack open the readme again and double check the changes to be made to pop_profile.asp.

Shaggy, thank you very much for your help. You were absolutely right, I had missed the pop_profile edits for active user.

I'm going to edit my other posts and disable the .txt links.

Thanks again!
