I'm having trouble getting subscriptions to work on ver 3.4.03, I think my email setup is incorrect. I cant figure where to get the testemailcomponent.asp that I saw mentioned elsewhere and I'm not sure how to run it if I did.

Would it be simpler to upgrade to 3.4.05 or would i just be transferring my email server problem to the new version?

I'll be glad of any help

Aha!

I've found the testemailcomponent.asp unzipped it and uploaded it to my server, but how do I get it to run?

Aha again!

I managed to get testemailcomponent.asp to run, and I've got all four choices listed as email components installed. I'm using ASPMail with email mode on. I've enabled subscriptions at board level, then enabled subscriptions at category level, but I still cant seem to get things going. Any tips? I'm out of ideas.

You need to set the desired level at forum level as well.

When I got to Forum level I had the choice of "forum level" "topic level" or no subscriptions, so I've got "forum level selected but I still get no result.

I'd really appreciate any help you can give me.

Hey ruirib,

I changed the top level of subscription from "allow forum subscription" to "allow category subscription" and that seems to be working.
