We have recently installed an avatar MOD on www.luscos.com/forum, but now the registration of new members don't work.

When you click the agree-button from here: www.luscos.com/forum/policy.asp" target="_blank">http://www.luscos.com/forum/policy.asp
you get a 500.

I would appreciate any help... (gulp)... Apologies if this is a repost -i have searched and browsed this forum for answers, but can't seem to find any.

When I visit your page with Firefox, it gives a more specific error:
Microsoft VBScript compilation  error '800a0400'

You may want to check the changes you made with the avatar mod. If you made a backup of register.asp, you might restore the backup and make the mod changes again.

Also, please post a handful of lines above and below this (like lines 560-575) so we can see where exactly this is.
